Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

We Continue is a brand new daytime event designed to change the way you think about partying and give a different shape to your weekend.

You spoke and we listened! Its uplifting house, its bouncy electro, its comfy sofas and quirky décor, it’s in South London and best of all, IT’S FREE!!!

We’re thrilled to be holding our first ever party at the legendary Dogstar in Brixton, a venue steeped in musical history which has played host to some amazing live bands and parties over the years and this will be their first ever Sunday afternoon party!

If you’ve never been to the Dogstar before (and even if you have) you can’t fail to be stunned by the surrealist décor which is different in each and every room. We’re lucky enough to be having our party in the VIP suite, a gorgeous, intimate room with comfy sofas and armchairs, a perfectly proportioned dance space, chandeliers, a private bar and almost panoramic views of Brixton’s buzzing community thanks to the huge windows. The Dogstar is only a 5 minute walk from Brixton tube and overground train services.

Sunday afternoon just got a lot more interesting.

Sunday Saviours:
MARCO DEL HORNO (Rinse FM)
NOT SHY (This Is Not A Rave/CAT)
SOOTHSAYER (Disco 3001)
JASMINE (Dice, No Judgement)
KILLEMILIO (Dice, UpTownBoogieDown)

Entry: FREE!

Long-awaited dj Robin Would @ EGG! [29 Nov 2008|12:59am]

agooshah
Ladies and Gents!

He's finally in London and cooking up a gig that will blow your minds away! Straight from South Africa, dj Robin Would takes the best beats under his fingers and does pure magic!

The influences on Robin's work are many and varied, stemming from sound crumbles collected on his music path over the years. Get a feel of his work here and hear how passion-possessed Robin Would tells the story and how his mood flows down his fingers to result in mixes that trigger profound reaction from the first till the last beat. At times mellow, dark sometimes, always deep and rich - his work projects the travel through experiences in the world of sounds that Robin generously shares.

Allow yourself to get infected by this magic at the return of the World's Most Famous Club Amnesia Ibiza @ EGG club (200 York Way, London) on 27 December (kick off at 22:00). Look for Robin Would in Arena 3 and get immersed in the perfect blend of techno, minimal, dub and house, with a personal touch that makes the rhythm melt smoothly into the back of your head.

UK Goth Club List (cross-posted) [18 Apr 2008|05:09pm]

delkaetre_ni
Yes, the Listing is still alive and kicking. But, as will happen when one gathers a large amount of info about goths into once place, parts of it are no longer of guaranteed accuracy. So, I would like to take this chance to ask very nicely that you pretty please help out a bit with it.
If you could possibly confirm whether the following clubs are alive or dead, I'll be grateful. So grateful that I'll probably buy a drink for you if you identify yourself to me at Whitby, Woolstock, Misfest, Infest or whatever else ends up luring me in.
Bournemouth- Black Machine @ Portman Hotel, last Sat of every month
Brighton- Nightshade @ Gap Club, bi-monthly
Brighton- Lowlife @ the Engine Room, 4th Saturday
Edinburgh- Club Absynth @ Nicol Edwards, last Saturday
Glasgow- Flux @ Level Four, Strathclye Union, 1st Saturday
Manchester - Ara @ Sacred Trinity Church, Church Street, 4th Friday
Northampton- Absolution @ the Racehorse Pub, 1st Saturday
York- Shadowplay @ The Black Swan, last Monday (variable)
The full club listing is available here, and if you want any festivals, gigs, events, or local stuff listed, then contact us- leave a message here, or use the contact details on the site. Trashcan and I will be meeting at Whitby to discuss the future of the site- we hope to move to a new host and we'll be talking to a few people about that, so the site should grow and improve. But, as with Netgoth, it can't do this without your help- let us know when something's on and we'll get it listed.

Horrorshow Cabaret [17 Jan 2008|01:46am]

delkaetre_ni
A night of B-movie burlesque and music from beyond the grave! Horrorshow Cabaret will have a selection of burlesque acts followed by a live performance from the high energy Horrorpunk band Pink Hearse. And keeping you entertained between bands and performers will be DJs Cavey Nik (Dead and Buried), Grimly Fiendish (Misery of Sound) and Jussard (Blood and Velvet).
It's on Saturday the 2nd of Februrary in the Old King's Head, Holloway Road, London. The night begins at 8pm, and runs till 3am. It's £8, or £7 with a flyer before 11pm, and if the great band, wonderful performers and excellent DJs are not enough to tempt you- the Old King's Head is now offering a discount card to get you a saving on all food and drink at the venue.

January Events List for the the ukgothlist. Could you let me know if there's an event here that shouldn't be, or if we've missed anything?
I'll probably be putting up a list like this for the coming month in the middle of the month before from now on, so that we can keep the listing as accurate as possible.
We're developing a list of traders and regional listings very slowly- if there's a bar, tattoo parlour, shop, cafe, etc in your area that's alt friendly, let us know so we can add it in the regional or trader listings.

Friday and Saturday in London (cross-posted) [14 Nov 2007|12:04pm]

delkaetre_ni

Blood and Velvet is on once more this Friday, and what's more it looks like it may be the only dedicated goth club available. Betty Ford is currently on hiatus, due to resume in January, and Tarantula has dropped its goth floor for this month. So if you want your fill of goth, eighties, punk and more... come along to the Old King's Head on Holloway Road, this Friday from 8pm till late, for another excellent night of Blood and Velvet's resident DJs. The bar food's pretty good by the way- try the chips.
Plus! This month we have Trash Monroe playing live, and if you come back on Saturday there's a great band lineup including The Eternal Fall (all the way from Spain, and fresh from the Sophie Lancaster Tribute gig) and all girl punk-rockers Pink Hearse. It'll be a weekend to remember at the Old King's Head!

Are these clubs still around? [16 Oct 2007|02:24pm]

delkaetre_ni
There are a few clubs in the UK Goth Club Listing which have no sites, and some of them I'm finding it nearly impossible to get any hard information for. Can any of you confirm the existence of or provide a homepage for the following? Some of them are definitely still running, but I could use proof in online form and a way to verify dates and locations.
-Bradford, Dead Stars
-Brighton, Nightshade
-Cambridge, Mas
-Dumfries, Nexus 6
-Glasgow, Cryotec
-Leicester, Darkscape
-Liverpool, Midian
-London, X-tro
-Nottingham, Spellbound
-Wolverhampton, Hex In The City
and that's about it- everything else has full name, date, location and website listings. If you don't see your club listed on the UK Goth Club Listing, please contact me either on LJ, via email, or via the guestbook on the site and give me full details.

Tonight, with Special Guests! [21 Sep 2007|01:07pm]

delkaetre_ni
It's the third Friday of the month, and that means Blood and Velvet is here to entertain you. This month there are two special treats for those of you who join us, as we have both a band and a guest DJ.
New Project, whose myspace can be found here, will be due onstage at 10.30pm, and before and after their set you can expect plenty of excellent tunes from resident DJs Jussard and Psychozombie.
Which brings us to the other treat- guest DJ Paul Sticks of Dr Fells in Basingstoke is going to be joining the Blood and Velvet team just for tonight, making September's Blood and Velvet an event not to be missed!
Look out for flyers, which will get you £1 off the entry price till 11.30pm.

(yes, I have posted on this community twice already this week. You can be sure my laziness won't let that continue!)

UK Goth Club Listing now has a site. (cross posted) [20 Sep 2007|03:13pm]

delkaetre_ni
The goth club list is now available HERE. The URL is www.freewebs.com/ukgothclublist, if you'd like to put that somewhere for safekeeping.
It doesn't show up on searches yet, since I only threw it together this afternoon.
It will, later, gain a list of festivals and possibly a page for one-off events, and will certainly gain a page for band listings and a page for online stores.
It is basic- no music, no funny cursors, no flashing things, no animations. This is because I want it to work for everyone- I don't want it to turn into the kind of mess that Myspace so easily does, I want it to be functional. Just a neat and tidy site, with a links bar at one side. At no point should this be difficult to navigate, cause you to crash, make noises, or any of those things that can kill a dial up connection and slow down the site's functionality.
What think ye?

UK goth events listing (cross posted) [19 Sep 2007|02:17pm]

delkaetre_ni
If there is still a regularly updated listing for all UK goth events and I'm just in the dark about it, then apologies in advance for this...

Netgoth is down, the International Goth Club Listing misses bits and can be pretty sketchy and outdated, and other sites seem to suffer similar problems. So I thought I'd try and help by compling as accurate a listing for UK goth events as possible. May include festivals and one-off events at some point, just includes clubs for now.
If a night is listed but has changed venue, changed date, or no longer runs- let me know.
If something is listed as unconfirmed and you can confirm it, please do.
If there is a regular night in your area which is for some reason not listed, let me know. Give the date, name, pub or other location it's held in, and city.

The (listed by town) listing so far-
